Alumni and representatives of both the University of the Philippines and Kyoto University joined their fellow leaders from the public and private sectors at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on January 29, 2019 to attend the 13th Kyoto University Southeast Asia Network Forum. This international conference was co-sponsored by the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and Kyoto University, with Japanese-trained UP alumni at the forefront.

This will be the first time that the Society for Human Ecology international conference will be held in the ASEAN region where past SHE conferences were held in USA, Australia, and United Kingdom. This year, the College of Human Ecology of the University of the Philippines Los Baños in partnership with the Society for Human Ecology (SHE), and the International Organization for Human Ecology will host the said conference.
