“You can take UP alumni out of UP, but you can never take UP away from them,” University of the Philippines President Angelo Jimenez said at the inaugural UP President’s Cup organized by the UP Alumni Association, March 27 at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Course, Quezon City.

The event gathered alumni, partners, and sponsors to support UPAA’s student welfare initiatives, Lingap Tanghalian and the Living Expenses Assistance Program. The golf tournament intended to generate sponsorships that would expand assistance for beneficiaries across the UP system.

LEAP provides financial assistance to students in need, while Lingap Tanghalian provides students with meals at midday, when academic activities are more demanding.
