In a meeting with the Office of the Ombudsman, Feb. 19 at the Executive House, University of the Philippines Diliman, UP reiterated its commitment to complete the video materials in the Aral at Asal project. These videos promote good citizenship and ethical public service, and are intended for popular distribution to education stakeholders and the general public.

Under Aral at Asal, project implementer TVUP reported that the partnership with the Ombudsman had resulted in 21 filmed episodes of the “Batas at Bayan” drama anthology, which is based on Ombudsman cases. There were shorter-form versions intended for social media as well. Under the project component on values education intervention featuring puppets, 20 scripts had been drafted, all puppets crafted, and 90 percent of the production set constructed, said TVUP.  Additionally, 27 training videos for values communication had been filmed.

According to TVUP Director Grace Alfonso, this is the second iteration of Aral at Asal, the first being a collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education — in three years of which, TVUP delivered 26 episodes of “Batas at Bayan,” 26 episodes of another drama anthology “Tanging Pamilya,” and 100 lectures on ethics. These are uploaded in the TVUP YouTube channel.

The meeting was attended by a delegation from the Office of the Ombudsman led by Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla, and from UP, President Angelo Jimenez, Vice President for Public Affairs Marian Coquia-Regidor, TVUP General Manager Danilo Concepcion, Alfonso, and other TVUP directors.
