UP honors award-winning members of its community

The University of the Philippines celebrated members of its community who have received recognition in the national or global stage. The ceremony was held June 11 at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, UP Diliman.

 

Pagkilala sa Fakulti, REPS, Kawani, at Mag-aaral na Nagtamo ng Pambansa o Internasyonal na Rekognisyon honored 40 faculty members; 26 research, extension, and professional staff; two administrative staff; and 13 students, hailing from UPD, UP Los Baños, UP Manila, UP Visayas, UP Open University, and UP Mindanao.

 

University officials, President Angelo Jimenez, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs (Quality Assurance) Alyssa Peleo-Alampay, and Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs (Faculty Development) Ian Kendrich Fontanilla led the awarding ceremony. Jimenez called on the honorees to continue upholding excellence in the service of others.

 

The ceremony was part of the inaugural Buwan ng Unibersidad — this year’s monthlong commemoration of the university’s founding anniversary, June 18. The anniversary celebration was formerly a weeklong series of activities and was called Linggo ng Unibersidad.
