UP Diliman dominates October Metallurgical Eng’g Boards; UPD grad earns top marks

In the Oct. 28, 2024, release of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) was the best-performing school in the recently concluded October 2024 Metallurgical Engineers Computer-Based Licensure Examination.

Out of 26 examinees from UPD, 25 passed, resulting in a near-perfect passing rate of 96.15%. UPD also dominated the top ten, with nine graduates making the list.  They were led by Russel Hibaya David, who secured first place with a score of 86.65%. He was followed by Lorenzo Espinosa Reyes in second (85.80%), Jimuel Atienza Biacora in third (85.50%), John Marrselle Wagas Almerina in fifth (83.30%), Lawrence Gil Laurete Buca in sixth (82.35%), Jan Alfred Hernandez Galindo in seventh (82.30%), Kurt Cobain Silava Estrella in eighth (81.10%), Joanna Go Reyes in ninth (80.80%), and Nathaniel Conel Bonita in tenth (80.75%).

The exam was administered in the National Capital Region (NCR), Cagayan de Oro and Davao, with 41 out of 67 examinees passing, resulting in an overall passing rate of 61.19%.
