Talks resume on possible UP Manila School of Health Sciences in Agusan del Sur

Congressman Adolph Edward Plaza, Agusan del Sur second district representative, met with University of the Philippines President Angelo Jimenez and other UP officials, March 16 at Quezon Hall, UP Diliman, to resume talks on the possible establishment of a UP Manila School of Health Sciences in the province.

UP President Angelo Jimenez was joined by UPM Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Bernadette Heizel Manapat-Reyes in the discussion. Other UP officials present were VP for Research and Innovation Joel Joseph Marciano, VP for Digital Transformation Peter Sy, Assistant VPAA (Faculty Development) Ian Fontanilla, and Special Assistant to the President Domingo Lopez.

Plaza was accompanied by his Chief Political Affairs Officer Jaybe Quinonez and Executive Assistant Lizbeth Martina Plaza, as well as Agusan del Sur State University President Joy Capistrano, ADSSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Carmelo Llanto, and Commission on Higher Education Caraga Regional Director Nelia Alibin.

While the main point of discussion was on UPM-SHS, other areas for collaboration were also touched on, such as programs between UP Los Baños and ADSSU, which used to be the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology.
