The University of the Philippines hosted a reception dinner for Zhejiang University professors Oct. 17 at the Executive House, UP Diliman.
UP officials led by President Angelo Jimenez received university guests, Prof. Xiaozhou Xu, UNESCO Chairholder in Entrepreneurship Education and president of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network National Chapter of China; and Prof. Mei Weihui, visiting scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles, and ZJU professor of comparative education.
ZJU, one of the top universities in China, is a member of global networks of higher education institutions such as the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, the International Association of Universities, and the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities.
With Jimenez were Executive Vice President Leo Cubillan, VP for Academic Affairs Lorraine Pe Symaco, VP for Research and Innovation Joel Marciano, Assistant VPAA and Office of International Linkages Director Dolores Cecilia Madrid, AVPAA for Faculty Development Ian Kendrich Fontanilla, UP College of Education OIC Marie Grace Reoperez, and UP National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development Director Sheryl Lyn Monterola.
UP College of Music Prof. Michelle Nicolasora and Roxanne Abuel-Delos Reyes serenaded the attendees with soulful Filipino compositions.
With Reoperez were UP College of Education faculty and personnel Jayson Ornido, John Leonard Burdeos, and Jon Paul Maligalig.
