Dinagat Islands gov’t seeks UP assistance, signs MOU

The University of the Philippines, represented by President Angelo Jimenez, and the Provincial Government of Dinagat Islands, represented by Governor Nilo Demerey Jr., signed a memorandum of understanding, July 28, at the Executive House, UP Diliman. 

 

The MOU aimed to promote academic research, institutional and technical cooperation, support PGDI’s educational, developmental and governance priorities, explore the development of collaborative programs, inquire into possible guidance on organizational requirements for Dinagat Islands State College, and establish institutional partnership and cooperation for identified programs and project initiatives.  

 

Officials of both parties initially met in May to discuss possible points of partnership, a major focus area of which was the months-old DISC. 

 

The memorandum establishes a two-year partnership. It shall be in effect unless otherwise determined with a written agreement by both parties.
