The UP Board of Regents (UP BOR) recently confirmed the results of the Faculty Regent elections held from Nov. 20 to 21, 2024. In its 1395th meeting on Nov. 28, 2024, the Board declared Early Sol Gadong from UP Visayas (UPV) to be the next Faculty Regent.
A mathematician, artist, and human rights activist who campaigned on a platform of “wellness, well-being, and welfare” for the University’s faculty body, Gadong received a total of 1,935 votes. Faculty Regent-elect Gadong will succeed incumbent Faculty Regent Carl Marc Ramota when the latter’s term ends on Dec. 31, 2024.
