UP president hosts gathering of NUS alumni from PH

University of the Philippines President Angelo Jimenez hosted the gathering of National University of Singapore alumni from the Philippines. It was held Nov. 22 at the Executive House, UP Diliman.

 

Through the social event, Jimenez an alumnus of UP (BA Sociology, Bachelor of Laws) and NUS (Master in Public Management) hoped to strengthen connections and networks. “If we accept that our communities are global, then the challenge now is to create a community in that globality.” He also discussed his vision for UP as a research university focused on research and innovation, and acknowledged the challenges of institutional reform.

Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the Philippines Constance See Sin Yuan talked on “The Activities of the Singapore Embassy Promoting SGP-PHL Relationship.” She reminded fellow NUS alumni, “You are part of this story. Many of you hold key positions in government, in academia, in industry, in business. So we count on your leadership and your support to make this relationship even more strong.”
