The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs-Office of Student Development Services, in partnership with the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of San Francisco, launched Dec. 12 the second batch of the Alumni Mentoring Program via Zoom. Selected UP Diliman students were introduced to their mentors, who are UP alumni professionals residing in the Southern San Francisco Bay Area, California.
Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs (Student Affairs) Ma. Shari Niña Oliquino, in her opening remarks, announced that the office has opened additional slots for more mentors to benefit more students. She also bared plans of expanding the program to other UP constituent universities nationwide.

UP President Angelo Jimenez, through a pre-recorded message, thanked the alumni mentors for giving back to the university. Said Jimenez, “This is a form of service that will shape lives, expand horizons, and encourage our students to pursue their aspirations with confidence and humility.”
UPAASF President Letty Quizon said the second batch of the mentoring program is “a result and an outcome of the lessons that we learned from our pilot program.” She announced the inclusion of the mentor circle and the mentee hub for this year’s AMP.

On behalf of the AMP Batch 2 mentees, Casandra Estelle Estaris thanked the offices for creating such an opportunity for students. Estaris said she hopes the program will help graduating students navigate their career paths. “Being able to make informed decisions at this stage of our lives will not only benefit us individually, but may also help us give back to our communities.”

AMP is OVPAA-OSDS’s flagship student affairs project and the first initiative of its kind by a UP alumni chapter. Introduced in 2023, the AMP is an online mentoring program that provides one-on-one training sessions to select UPD students.
Mentoring for the program’s second batch will run from December 2025 to May 2026.
