The University of the Philippines Office of the President through the UP Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) – Office of Student Development Services (OSDS), in partnership with UP-CIFAL Philippines and the UP Asian Center, will host the first-ever SDG Youth Summit on March 12 to 13, 2026, at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium.
The SDG Youth Summit is a two-day capacity-building event designed to strengthen UP student leaders’ understanding of sustainable development, to equip them with practical and actionable skills, and to promote collaboration in implementing grassroots initiatives within their respective communities.
The Summit will convene 300 student leaders from all UP constituent universities. Resource speakers from diverse fields will bolster the learning experience and provide mentorship as participants develop their capstone projects. Through lectures, workshops, and the outputs of these projects, participants are expected to emerge as key partners of the University in advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the community level.
The Sustainable Development Goals are a universal blueprint designed to be a call to action that addresses the many issues all over the world, such as hunger, health, education, climate change, and inequality. More than a third of this blueprint involves the youth and directly addresses their well-being and participation. The Summit highlights the importance and responsibilities of the youth within the SDGs and empowers them through their participation.
